Le Thi Hong Gam since childhood has heard about many heroic examples of sacrifices for the war. , for her homeland, so it aroused her deep hatred for the enemy.
When she was 16 years old, she volunteered to join the guerrilla team, and was assigned to be a courier. Many times, the cadres were safely brought out of the enemy's encirclement by her.
Le Thi Hong Gam was promoted to vice captain in her hometown at the age of 18. During the day, she worked in a secret cellar, at night, she went to each family to mobilize the people to participate in production and help the revolution.
With her commendable achievements. she was later admitted to the Communist Party of Vietnam.
In 1970, while on the way to communicate, she was ambushed by enemy planes. Even though she was alone, she still refused to give in. she used the gun in her hand to kill many soldiers and shoot down one of their planes.
Le Thi Hong Gam fought the enemy alone until there were no bullets left, and she heroically sacrificed, leaving a shining example of courage for everyone to follow. After her death, she was posthumously awarded the title Hero of the Liberation of the South.
