At the final round of individual timed content at a young age (17-18 years old) Asian Road Cycling Championship 2023, young female athlete Dong Thap joined compete against 9 competitors from Macao, Thailand, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Taiwan, Iran, India, Hong Kong and Mongolia. She is also the only female cyclist representing Vietnam to participate in this content. Athlete Be Hong completed her 15km long distance competition with a time of 23 minutes 43, 890 seconds, with an average speed of over 37.92km/h. Her time outstripped her second-placed competitor Rizaeva Asal of Uzbekistan by 4.371 seconds. The bronze medal was won by Taiwanese athlete Lee Chai Roug with a time of 23 minutes 56, 314 seconds.
After nearly 5 years of hard training with the team. Under the dedicated guidance of coach Mai Cong Hieu, athlete Be Hong has shown great progress. With enthusiastic guidance from the former "personal king" of Vietnamese road bikes, she has been practicing in a style that suits her forte. At last year's Asian tournament, she excellently won the bronze medal, surprising everyone, but this year, she has confirmed her promising talent.
Before participating in the Asian Championship Road Cycling Tournament 2023 held in Thailand, the Dong Thap cyclist and coach Mai Cong Hieu conducted a training trip at the Training Center of the World Cycling Federation (UCI) in Korea for about 1 month. It can be said that this training session has helped Baby Hong achieve good performance in this year's Asian tournament.
