Tran Bac Ha is a Vietnamese businessman. He used to hold the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) from 2008-2016. From 2003-2017, he was the General Director of BIDV.
In 2015, Tran Bac Ha started working at BIDV. After 10 years of working, he was appointed to the position of Director of BIDV branch Binh Dinh. Before that, he held a number of other positions such as: Director of BIDV Asset Management and Debt Management Company, Director of Transaction Office III of BIDV, Director of BIDV Securities Company.
Date 1/ October 1999, he held the position of Deputy General Director of BIDV. Until May 2003, he was a member of BIDV's Board of Directors. On December 31, 2007, he became the General Director of BIDV.
From January 2008 to October 2011, he held the position of BIDV's Board of Directors. From October 21, 2011 to April 30, 2012, he was the Chairman of BIDV's Members' Council. From May 2012 to April 2016, he was the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Commercial Bank and Joint Stock Company for Investment and Development of Vietnam.
On September 1, 2016, he retired. He used to be the Chairman of the Association of Vietnamese Investors in Cambodia (AVIC), Investment in Myanmar (AVIM), Investment in Laos (AVIL).
During the trial of the failed case. escaped 6,000 billion VND at Vietnam Construction Bank (VNCB) due to defendant Pham Cong Danh, Tram Be and his accomplices, the chairman informed that the representative chosen by Mr. Tran Bac Ha as the Representative said that Mr. Ha had been hospitalized in Singapore. Mr. Tran Bac Ha's authorized person presented documents proving that Mr. Ha was hospitalized in Singapore, and proved that he had entered Singapore. It is known that the content of Mr. Dan's application presented that Mr. Ha had liver cancer since 2012, he was operated by a doctor at Glenneagles Hospital in Singapore for the first time. Through the process of monitoring the disease, his personal doctor. Ha advised Mr. Ha to have urgent surgery because he suspected there was a tumor in his neck and the tumor was growing fast. Therefore, on January 7, 2018, Mr. Ha entered Singapore. Mr. Dan pledged to send full documents and copies on his behalf to the Jury on the afternoon of January 15 or the morning of January 16, 2018.
