Chinese War Hero Vo Tong

Wu Cong, pinyin name Wǔ Sōng, alias Practitioner, is a character in the novel Water Margin, but is in fact a real person in Chinese history. He was one of the 108 heroes of Liangshan Silver.

He came from a family in Shandong province. From a young age, he lost his parents and was raised by his older brother, Vo Dai Lang. According to the description in the novel Water Margin, he is a mighty man, strong, bright eyes like stars, broad chest, muscular muscles, his eyebrows, about eight feet tall. When he grew up, he had a high level of martial arts, often liked to drink alcohol and practice chivalry, and was famous for being a righteous man.

In his life Vo Tong has two classics. First of all, the story of Vo Tong killed a tiger. It was a time when Vo Tong and the secret administrator of Thanh Ha district had a disagreement. While drunk, he punched the steward and knocked him unconscious. He thought he was dead, so he fled to Hoanh Hai to take refuge in Sai Tien. After nearly a year, he learned that the steward was not dead, so he intended to return, but because of malaria, he could not return. At the same time Tong Giang and Tong Thanh also came to the house Sai Tien. Here, Tong Giang brothers took care of Vo Tong. After recovering, he and Tong Giang and Tong Thanh made a brotherhood. Then they parted and set a date to meet again. On the way home, he passed Duong Coc present and stopped at a pub. The outside of this tavern has the words "Drink three cups without passing the hill". Vo Tong was originally a drinker, so when he saw this line, he felt very uncomfortable. When I asked about the matter, I learned that there was a tiger on the hill that specializes in eating humans, so anyone who gets drunk should not go there. When Vo Tong heard that, he drank all the alcohol in the bar. In a drunken stupor, he went up the hill alone with a stick to find the tiger. Early the next day he saw the tiger. After a while of scheming and not being able to catch it, he threw the stick aside and pressed the tiger's head into the ground with one hand, the other hand punched its head until it broke its head and died. Thanks to this, Vo Tong was awarded the title of First Capital by the district command of this region.

Finally, Vo Tong returned home to reunite with him. after 1 year of separation. Vo Tong's brother was overjoyed and quickly introduced him to his newlywed wife, Phan Kim Lien. Vo Thuc is the eldest son of the Vo family, so he is often called Vo Dai Lang, selling steamed cakes to raise Vo Tong. Vo Thuc has an ugly face, a more modest physique than Vo Tong, but has a very beautiful, but affectionate wife, Phan Kim Lien. When she saw Vo Tong, Phan Kim Lien fell in love with her brother-in-law. Choosing when Vo Thuc went to sell goods, Vo Tong came home early, Phan Kim Lien flirted with her brother-in-law as if he was rejected. Vo Tong even scolded his sister-in-law once, making her embarrassed. In her heart, Phan Kim Lien was resentful, so she told her husband that she was teased by her brother-in-law. Although Vo Thuc understood his brother's character and did not believe his wife, Vo Tong still moved his luggage to the house to avoid his sister-in-law. Once, when Phan Kim Lien opened a window to dry clothes, he carelessly dropped the pole and hit Ximen Khanh on the head. Upon seeing Phan Kim Lien, Ximen Khanh fell in love and then asked her to make a match. After that, the two of them communicated with each other. This illicit relationship was finally exposed. The boy selling pears, Kieu Van Ca, informed Vo Thuc. When he learned that his wife was spoiled, Vo Thuc ran to her house to arrest a couple of adulterers. But because of his weak body, Vo Shi was beaten by Ximen Khanh and had to be bedridden for a week. Phan Kim Lien and Tay Mon Khanh secretly harmed Vo Dai Lang. When Vo Tong came home, knowing that his brother had died without reason, he asked the people in the district. After being told by Kieu Van Ca and Ha Cuu's uncles, Vo Tong took them to the public road to take statements. However, the district officials were afraid of the power of Ximen Khanh, so they tried to defeat Vo Tong. Vo Tong went home to prepare for the funeral, and asked someone to record all the testimonies. He forced Phan Kim Lien to confess, then cut open her stomach and cut off her head to sacrifice her brother's spirit. After that, he went to the Lion's floor to kill Ximen Khanh and then cut off his head and brought it back to his brother. Despite killing two people, Vo Tong was only sentenced to exile to Manh Chau.

On the way to Manh Chau, Vo Tong and two servants in at the tavern of Ton Nhi Nuong and Truong Thanh. Rumor has it that this pub makes dumplings with human flesh. Vo Tong took the opportunity to confirm this rumor. When they knew everything, Vo Tong, Ton Thi Nuong and Truong Thanh gave up their suspicions about each other and made a brotherhood. When he arrived at Manh Chau, he was taken care of by Thi An. He helped Thi An defeat Chiang Mon Than to regain business land. Chiang Mon Than was angry, so he colluded with Truong Do Giam and Truong Doan to harm Vo Tong and falsely accused him of stealing. Vo Tong was brought to the government and then imprisoned in prison. Thi An knew about it and asked for help. Vo Tong's sentence was reduced to only exile. On the way to exile, Vo Tong was murdered by a disciple of Chiang Mon Than and two servants. But he killed them and returned to Truong Do Giam's house to take revenge.

After Luong Son Bac had conquered Ho Dien Chuoc, Vo Tong and the great lords of Nhi Long mountain agreed to join Luong Son Bac. He was given the 14th seat as Thien Thuong Tinh, belonging to the group of 36 Thien Cuong. The position is the infantry leader, one of the ten leading infantry leaders of Luong Son. During the battle of Muc Chau, he was besieged by General Bao Dao At in Phuong Lap and had his arm cut off. After winning the battle, Phuong Lap returned, Vo Tong went to Luc Hoa pagoda to become a monk. He passed away at the age of 80.
