An American novelist and screenwriter, he wrote Crown Puppet, which was the number seven best-selling book in the United States in 1901. His other famous works include The Man on the Box, Half Rogue, and Jeopardy's The Drums.
Several of his novels, including The Adventures of Kathlyn, Half Rogue, and The Voice in the Mist, have been adapted into films.
