Margot Kidder, real name Margaret Ruth Kidder, is a Canadian-American actress and social activist. She rose to fame in 1978 through her role as Lane in the movie "Superman".
In 1960 actress Margot Kidder debuted with a role in the Canadian low-budget horror television series, before landing the role. She first starred in "Quackser Fortune Has a Cousin in the Bronx" in 1970. She then played the Siamese twins in the 1973 film "Sisters" directed by Brian De Palma. In 1974 she appeared in the film "Black Christmas", in 1975 appeared in the film "The Great Waldo Pepper" with the actor Robert Redford. Her role as Kathy Lutz in the blockbuster horror film "Amityville Horror" brought her success and fame. In 1996, actress Margot Kidder's acting career began to slow down and she gradually disappeared from the stage due to health reasons. Since 2000 she has appeared on television through the films "Smallville", "Brothers & Sisters", and "The L Word". In 2015 she received an Emmy Award for her performance in "R. L. Stine's The Haunting Hour.".
Since 2015 Margot Kidder has been a citizen of the United States. She participated in political activism, environmental and anti-war movements.
