Who is Bodhisattva Dia Tang?
Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha colloquially named Kim Kieu Giac (Kim Kyo-gak), was born in the 7th century AD, in 696 BC, in the country of Silla (Silla), which is now Han Thanh, in South Korea.
Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva is one of the six bodhisattvas of Mahayana Buddhism. The remaining five are Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, Great World Chi Bodhisattva, Manjushri Bodhisattva, Samantabhadra Bodhisattva and Maitreya Bodhisattva.
Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva is a bodhisattva. Great compassion, great compassion, the world is very vast. He is the leader of the U Minh realm. Earth is earth. Tibet is the boss containing. The bodhisattva has made a great vow to save all sentient beings as well as the earth as a refuge for all things, so it is called Earth. There are also people who explain the meaning of the word "Earth" based on the Ksitigarbha Sutra, which says: "U Minh Teacher of the Deity Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva Mahasattva". Because the use of words in the scriptures is very literal and clear, "Tai" is the original mind, "Tun" is precious, "Earth" is the mind-ground, "Tibetan" is the Tathagata's organ. Thus, only the Primordial Mind is the most precious, which is the Tathagata's storehouse of the mind ground. Only the Primordial Mind can master the realm of darkness, that is, the hell realm of greed, anger, and delusion of one's own.
In Japanese culture, Ksitigarbha is the guardian Bodhisattva. for children, as well as protecting the spirits of children or stillborn fetuses. Ksitigarbha is often depicted as a bald monk with a halo of light, holding a staff in one hand to open the gates of hell and dispel all suffering, and in the other hand holding the Nhu Y jade, symbolizing light that dispels darkness. . The King of Earth in China and Vietnam is depicted riding on the spirit beast De Thinh (or Thien Thinh) shaped like a unicorn with one horn, some depict this De Thinh dog looking like a lion. The blue Tibetan snowman looks like a Tibetan mastiff (Tibetan mastiff).
Pictures in China and Vietnam also depict Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva wearing the seven buddha hats and robes. The red cassava is originally the image of a Buddhist monk in Bac Truyen, and the image of Tang Tang in the novel Journey to the West is very similar to this image. In addition, Ksitigarbha King is very easy to confuse with Muc Kien-liang because there are many similarities in costumes (wearing a robe) and holding staffs in both hands. In Vietnam, when people sculpt, there is a distinction, when Ksitigarbha will wear a seven Buddha hat, while Muc Kien Lien does not wear a crown. Hearing, while Muc Kien Lien is standing, he does not sit but is always standing, a distinguishing feature is that Muc Kien Lien is holding nothing or holding a bowl in his left hand, while Ksitigarbha in his left hand will hold it. The Like-I-I Pearl.
