Who is Bodhisattva Pho Hien?
Samantabhadra Bodhisattva is considered one of the four great Bodhisattvas of Buddhism. He and Manjushri Bodhisattva were the attendants of Buddha Shakyamuni. Manjushri Bodhisattva rides a lion as an attendant on the left and Samantabhadra Bodhisattva on a white elephant stands as an attendant on the right.
He is one of the important bodhisattvas in Mahayana Buddhism. According to the Lotus Sutra, he is a bodhisattva in the land of Buddha Bao Oi, the Supreme King Tathagata, in the East of the Saha realm, hearing this world preach the Lotus Sutra, he immediately led five hundred great bodhisattvas to listen to the Dharma and develop the mind to protect the Dharma of Buddha Shakyamuni.

When Samantabhadra had not yet left home to study the Way, he was the fourth son of King Unavoiding Mindfulness, whose name was Nang-da-no. The title Samantabhadra appeared first in the Bodhisattva Mandala, and later appeared in many other sutras such as the Avatamsaka Sutra and the Lotus Sutra, so it became popular.
Phu Hien Bodhisattva symbolizes Ly, Concentration, Action; riding a white elephant with six tusks, serving at the right hand of the Tathagata. The white elephant symbolizes the wisdom to overcome obstacles, the 6 tusks represent the victory of the six senses (6 senses: eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, mind).
