American guitarist, songwriter and founder of the Grammy Award-winning band The Derek Trucks The band became a member of The Allman Brothers Band in 1999. In his 2010 album, Already Free, Get Won a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album.
He has twice appeared on Rolling Stone's list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time and in 2012 he accepted a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award alongside ten other members of The Allman. Brothers band.

He bought his first guitar at a yard sale for $5 when he was nine and became a prodigy who started playing gigs paying less than three years later.
