Oriana Fallaci is an Italian journalist, writer, and political reporter. As a guerrilla member during World War II, she had a long and successful career in journalism. Fallaci became known worldwide for her coverage of wars and revolutions, her interviews with many world leaders in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s.
Fallaci passed away on September 15, 2006 in her native Florence from lung cancer.

She twice received the St. Vincent for journalism in 1967 and 1971. She also received the Bancarella Award in 1970, the Viareggio Award in 1979. While still a teenager, Fallaci started his career in journalism and became a special correspondent for the Italian newspaper "Il mattino dell'Italia centrale" in 1946. Starting in In 1967, she was a war correspondent covering the wars in Vietnam, the Indo-Pakistani wars, the Middle East and South America.
For many years, Fallaci was a special correspondent for the magazine. L'Europeo politics and writing for several leading newspapers and Epoca magazines.Living in New York City and in a house she owns in Tuscany, Fallaci teaches at the University of Chicago, Yale University , Harvard University and Columbia University.
