Oriana Fallaci is an Italian journalist, writer, and political reporter. As a guerrilla member during World War II, she had a long and successful career in journalism. Fallaci became known worldwide for her coverage of wars and revolutions, her interviews with many world leaders in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s.
Fallaci passed away on September 15, 2006 in her native Florence from lung cancer.
During her career, Fallaci has won numerous awards:
She twice received the St. Vincent for journalism in 1967 and 1971. She also received the Bancarella Award in 1970, the Viareggio Award in 1979. On November 30, 2005, in New York City, Fallaci received the Annie Taylor Award for bravery. sentiments of the Dai Cultural Research Center. On December 8, 2005, Fallaci was awarded the Ambrogino d'oro Award - the highest recognition of the city of Milan and she also received the Karski Jan Eagle Award.
December 14, 2005 Fallaci was awarded the award. The President of the Italian Republic, Carlo Azeglio Ciampi presented a gold medal for his cultural contributions. On 12 February 2006, Governor of Tuscany, Riccardo NENCINI awarded Fallaci a gold medal from the Councils of Tuscany. In 2010, she was honored to receive the America award of the Italian-American foundation.
 
 

Young / Before famous

While still a teenager, Fallaci started his career in journalism and became a special correspondent for the Italian newspaper "Il mattino dell'Italia centrale" in 1946. Starting in In 1967, she was a war correspondent covering the wars in Vietnam, the Indo-Pakistani wars, the Middle East and South America.
For many years, Fallaci was a special correspondent for the magazine. L'Europeo politics and writing for several leading newspapers and Epoca magazines.Living in New York City and in a house she owns in Tuscany, Fallaci teaches at the University of Chicago, Yale University , Harvard University and Columbia University.
After September 11, 2001, Fallaci wrote three important books by Islamic extremists and Islam in general, and The Rage and the Pride was the most impressive.
