Who is Medical doctor Ly Thoi Tran?
Ly Thoi Tran, self-proclaimed Dong Bich, when he was old, he took the name Qin Ho Son Nhan, was a famous Chinese physician and pharmacologist in the Ming Dynasty. He was the author of the book "According to the outline" completed in 1578, writing about the use of Chinese herbs and medicinal herbs. He is considered one of the most famous naturalists of China. In China, he was also very interested in the precise classification of herbal ingredients.
He came from a family of physicians. When he was born, a white deer entered his room. Since he was a child, he is said to be destined to learn something related to immortality. From an early age, he had the will to pursue a career in medicine to save people. But when the trend of feudal society changed, China gradually attached importance to the exam to become a mandarin, so at the age of 14, he passed the baccalaureate exam. However, he failed to pass the bachelor's exam three times. He asked his father to study medicine and work as a physician. After more than 10 years of hard study, at the age of 30, he became a famous physician throughout the region. In 1551, he cured the disease of the son of the prince of the Ming dynasty, Phu Thuan, king of Chu Hau Khon, so his fame spread even further. He was invited by the Department of King Chu Anh Kiem in Wuchang to hold the position of Phung from the royal palace, concurrently holding the position of Healer of the Department of Affairs. In 1556, he was nominated to be a judge at the Thai medical clinic. As a person who did not like publicity, he only worked for 1 year before he resigned and returned to his hometown to write medical books.
From 1552, Ly Thoi Tran began to write the book "Manuscripts outline". To know more about the shape, properties, taste, effectiveness... of oriental medicinal herbs, as well as herbs, he went on field trips from the four directions, collecting all over the mountains and cups. After 27 years of hard work, with 3 major revisions to the manuscript, in 1578 he completed the book "Manuscript Outline". This book series is said to have made a great contribution to the development of Chinese herbal medicine, considered as China's encyclopedia of oriental medicine. The content of this book series consists of 16 parts, 53 volumes, 2 million words gathers information about 1,893 drugs
The book series "Manufacture of Manuscripts" has now been translated into many languages and is considered the leading reference work of traditional medicine. In the book series, Ly Thoi Tran mentioned many different fields such as zoology, botany and metallurgy. In addition to this series of books, the famous physician Ly Thoi Tran also wrote the books "Tan Ho Chic Chi", and "King of the Eight Circuits".
