This is the third installment in the Moon Thief series. The film is directed by Kyle Balda and Pierre Coffin, with a screenplay by Brian Lynch. In the Vietnamese market, the film has been acquired by Purpose Media Co., Ltd. the copyright and dub. The film was released in Vietnam on October 20, 2018, on channel HTV3 - DreamsTV. The next part is Minions: The Rise of Gru, which was released on July 1, 2022.

The film revolves around Minions - small yellow creatures. . However, they are inadvertently killing their own masters. They had been pushed into isolation after firing cannonballs at Napoleon while in Russia, and had begun a new life in a cave. However, after many years, the Minions feel sad and lose their motivation to live when there is no longer a purpose in life. To regain the Minion's dignity and consciousness, a leader Minion named Kevin recruited two Minions named Bob and Stuart to set out in search of a new owner.
Since July 2012, Illumination Entertainment and Universal Studios have announced the production of Minions, and announced plans to release the film in 2014. However, the film has since had to leave its release schedule in July 8, 2015. Reportedly, the film was invested with a budget of $74 million, and the worldwide gross was $1.159 billion.
