Known for such popular Harry-hole novel series as The Devil's Star, The Redbreast, and The Snowman, this acclaimed Norwegian writer won a 1998 Glass Major Award for the first novel in the series, The Bat (Flaggermusmannen).
His well-known works include a children's book titled Fart Powder Doctor Proctor and a collection of short stories called Karusellmusikk. A musician as well as a writer, he fronted an award-winning Norwegian rock group called Di Derre.
