Thao Trang started her singing career at the age of 17 at small events in Binh Duong. A year later, Trang decided to join the Ho Chi Minh City Music Institute to study music professionally.
In 2007, Thao Trang joined Vietnam Idol and was one of the Top 5 contestants.
In 2008, Thao Trang released the album "Strange".
In 2010, Thao Trang released the second album of The New Me.
