Who is Vietnamese historical celebrity Phan Huy Chu?
Phan Huy Chu self-named Lam Khanh, alias Mai Phong, was a mandarin under the Nguyen Dynasty, and was a great poet, bibliographer, and Vietnamese scholar. He was the son of the famous Confucian Phan Huy Ich, a mandarin of the Tay Son Dynasty.

He grew up in a rural village of Thu Hoach commune, Thien Loc district, Duc Quan district, town Nghe An, now belongs to the land Ha Tinh. He was raised by his parents carefully, followed by his biological uncle Ngo Nhi Nham Learning to read should be famous for being a literate person in the area of ​​Quoc, Son province. He passed the Baccalaureate in two times of Huong examination in 1807 and 1819, so the custom called him "dual teacher". Since then, he also quit exams and focused on research and writing.

In 1821, King Minh Mang heard that Phan Huy Chu was a talented man, so he summoned him to the imperial city of Hue, appointing him to be the editor of the National Tu Giam School in Hue. In this year, he presented to King Minh Mang the book "Calendar of the reign of the chapter of the chi" compiled by himself when he was still at school and completed in 1809, he was rewarded by the king.

In 1825, Phan Huy Chu was promoted to China by King Minh Mang. When he returned to the country, he was appointed to be the Prime Minister of Thua Thien, then promoted to Hiep Tran Quang Nam. Not long after, he was demoted again for making a mistake and was sent to Hue to hold the position of Thi Doc at the Academy. In 1831, he was appointed Deputy Ambassador to the Qing Dynasty by the King. But after returning home, the whole delegation was demoted for the crime of "abuse of power". In 1832, he was appointed as a servant in the mission to Batavia (Giang Luu Ba, Indonesia) to make atonement for sins. In 1834, he was appointed Secretary of the Ministry of Public Affairs. But because he was bored with the official position, he reported his illness and asked to go back to his hometown to rest. In the countryside, he practiced teaching and composing books until his death.

On April 27, 1840, Phan Huy Chu died at the age of 58. His grave was established in Mai Trai village. , in Van Thang commune, Ba Vi district, Hanoi. His grave has been remodeled twice, the last time in 2012, and has been certified as a national historic monument in 2014.
