Who is Vietnamese historical celebrity Trinh Hoai Duc?
Trinh Hoai Duc, whose name is Can Trai, alias Chi Son, is a public servant of the Nguyen Dynasty, a famous poet, writer, and historian of Vietnam in the 18th-19th centuries. He was granted the title of "An Toan Mar" by King Nguyen. With the book "Gia Dinh Thanh Thong Chi", Trinh Hoai Duc is considered one of the greatest historians for historical and geographical studies in Southern Vietnam.
Trinh Hoai Duc's ancestors are People from Fujian province - China, migrated to Vietnam from the reign of Lord Nguyen Phuc Tan, lived in Hue, then moved to Tran Bien. His father was appointed An Duong Cai by Lord Nguyen Phuc Khoat, then held the position of guard of the three schools of the army.

March 1793, he was appointed Dong Cung Thi Giang. At the end of that year, he was sent along with Dong Cung Canh (ie Nguyen Phuc Canh) to take care of Dien Khanh citadel. The following year, he was promoted to Tran Dinh palace and appointed to the position of Huu Tham Tri Household. In 1801, Lord Nguyen sent troops to attack Phu Xuan, he took care of the harvest in Quang Ngai and Quang Nam to supply food for the army. In May 1802, Lord Nguyen ascended to the throne at Phu Xuan, taking the era name Gia Long. February 1825, he died in Hue, at the age of 61. . The king dismissed the tide for 3 days and posthumously conferred him the title of "Chief Bao Can Main Hall of Dai Tu", and sent Prince Mien Hoang to bring his coffin to Gia Dinh. In the 5th year of Tu Duc, ie 1852, Trinh Hoai Duc's tablet was brought to Trung Hung Cong Than temple for worship. Then it was brought back to Hien Luong temple in 1858. On December 27, 1990, the mausoleum of him and his main wife was recognized by the state as a national monument.
