A Canadian writer whose work, Skybreaker, was named a 2005 children's novel by The Times, he is also known for his Silverwing Saga. His other works are children's novels including The Barnes and the Brain books and independent titles such as According to the Stars (1992) and Emma Emu (1995).
His novel, Parachute, won the Governor's Award in 2004.
