Known best for his frequent work with the songwriter and parody singer "Weird Al" Yankovic, this American bassist also collaborated with Pete Gallagher on the formation of a musical duo called Ak. & Zui. In addition, he composes music for public broadcast service (PBS) programs.
He founded a music label called Ayarou, on which he recorded many solo albums.
Known best for his frequent work with the songwriter and parody singer "Weird Al" Yankovic, this American bassist also collaborated with Pete Gallagher on the formation of a musical duo called Ak. & Zui. In addition, he composes music for public broadcast service (PBS) programs.
He founded a music label called Ayarou, on which he recorded many solo albums.
After graduating from the University of South Florida with an advanced degree in musical composition, he spent several years in Niger, learning West African drumming techniques.
A native of Tampa, Florida, he moved to Los Angeles with dreams of auditioning for Frank Zappa; when Zappa refused him the chance, he began a decades-long collaboration with "Weird Al" Yankovic.
