He composed more than 900 songs and 43 musicals, including "Oklahoma!," "The King and I," "The Sound of Music," and many other immortal classics. He also wrote "Enemy Dearest" from 1925, "The Girl Friend" from 1926, and "A Connecticut Yankee" from 1927 with Hart and "Carousel" from 1945, "South Pacific" from 1949 , and "cinderella" from 1957 with Hammerstein.
