Dolly Parton, born Dolly Rebecca Parton, is a famous American female singer, country music musician, actress, and philanthropist. She had 26 number one singles and 42 Top 10 albums on Billboard's country music album chart. She is the author and performer of the song "I Will Always Love You".
In 1968, Dolly Parton's first solo single, "Just Because I'm a Woman", reached number 17. In the late 1960s, she did not have any successful works, including the album "In the Good Old Day" - an album that would become well known later. In 1970, she achieved success with the song "Mule Skinner Blues" by Jimmie Rodgers, and the recording reached number 3 on the charts, earning her a Grammy Award nomination. Parton's first single "Jolene" reached number one in early 1974, making her famous, surpassing Wagoner. In 1974, the song "I Will Always Love You" topped the Country charts.
Dolly Parton is a famous musician and a big name in the country village. Her songs are all folk-influenced, based on her background in Catholic music and her family's upbringing. Many songs have become famous such as: I Will Always Love You, 9 to 5, Jolene, Coat of Many Colors, Love Is Like A Butterfly, Here You Come Again... Her success in songwriting led to her being inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2001. She has been a member of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame since 1986.
In November 1978, Parton's image appeared on the cover of Playboy magazine, although she had previously refused to pose for this magazine. Director Russ Meyer, once expressed her desire to make a movie about her 36FF breasts. The director also said that Parton is the only Hollywood female star he wants to work with.
