Director Cuong Ngo's full name is Ngo Quoc Cuong, he is an overseas Vietnamese. Cuong Ngo is the director of many famous short films, especially the film "Pearl of the Far East". In 2015, he was especially successful with the movie "Huong Ga", which brought him the "Best Director" award at the 2015 Golden Kite Awards.
During his time studying abroad in Canada, director Cuong Ngo has embarked on making a number of short films such as "The Man Who Wants" (The Hitchhiker Project), "Golden Brooch" (The golden pin). Among them, the short film "Golden Brooch" won the "Best Picture" award at the 2009 Toronto Film Festival on the subject of homosexuality. The film also won the second prize for "Best Asian Film" awarded by the Film Bureau of Canada.
