Tran Quy Quoc was born and raised in a family with artistic tradition in Hung Yen. His father was a Cheo artist in the former Hai Hung Cheo Troupe. From a young age, Quy Quoc inherited his father's artistic spirit. However, after graduating from the University of Theater and Cinema, he decided not to pursue a traditional art career like his father but chose the path of water puppetry.
Quy Quoc began participating in the arts in 1999 with many famous plays and achieved much success in his career. He has been awarded many prestigious awards throughout his career, but one of the most notable achievements is being honored by the state with the title of Meritorious Artist in 2015. In addition, he has also Excellently won many gold and silver medals at puppet festivals both domestically and internationally, with many compliments.
Besides being a famous and successful water puppet artist, Quy Quoc is also very talented and multi-talented when participating in many new fields. He participated in programs on VTV such as Weekend Meet and VTC Laughing Corner since he first started his career in 2003-2004. Not only that, but the audience also saw him through many Tet comedies such as "Single Wife Village" - "Barefoot Tycoon" which is very popular with the audience or a stress relief program on VTV.
During his work, Quy Quoc has participated in performances not only domestically but also internationally. He wants to bring Vietnamese water puppetry to international friends. In addition, he always tries to bring water puppetry to young people in the hope that the next generation can continue this artistic value.
Sharing his plans for the future, Quy Quoc said: He will still try to conquer new heights in puppetry. Every year, he will try to release a new performance of his own to serve the audience even better. In addition, he hopes that Vietnam's traditional arts will forever have a solid position in the hearts of current and future audiences.
