Director Nguyen Ngoc Phuong or Ngoc Phuong, born Nguyen Ngoc Phac, was born in Hanoi. He was conferred the title of People's Artist by the State in 1990.
After graduating with a degree in directing from the National Academy of Theater of the Soviet Union, Lunachaxki, Nguyen Ngoc Phuong returned to her home country and began to perform her first plays.
The first play he staged was "Rainy Night", right in this first play, director Nguyen Ngoc Phuong made a good impression on the audience. After that, he continued to perform many other plays such as: Anh Troi, Hoa Cannon, Anh Troi, Truong learned to make money, The road and youth…
In early 1967, director Nguyen Ngoc Phuong created the play De Tham, a successful play with more than 1000 performances and received much love from the audience. In 1970, this play won the Gold Medal at the National Professional Theater Festival. With this great success, his name has been raised to new heights and he has been appointed as the director and art director of the North Central Opera House.
After twenty years of filmmaking, from 1970-1990, director Nguyen Ngoc Phuong has embarked on editing 10 complete classical plays and nearly 20 famous tuong excerpts such as: Manh Luong catches the horse, Xuan Xuan. Peach cut meat, Chau Sang crosses the river, Billion can be a man... In August 1981, director Ngoc Phuong brought Vietnamese tuong art to Germany, Bulgaria and the Soviet Union to perform and achieved great success. He was also the first person to bring the art of tuong to the world.

In 1963, he graduated, then returned home to work.
