He married Meher Afroz Shaon in 2005, after ending a thirty-year marriage to Gultekin Ahmed in 2003. His first marriage produced one son (Nuhash) and three daughters (Sheela). , Nova, and Bipasha). With his second wife, he had two more sons (Ninit and Nishad).
