The book he wrote Synopsis palmariorum matheseos- A New Overview of Mathematics. This book was one of the successes and made him one of the important members in the field of science. He was close to two other famous mathematicians, Isaac Newton and Edmund Halley. And then in November 1711 he was elected a member of the Royal Society. Since then he has edited and published many of Newton's manuscripts.
Despite many successes, the dissemination of the symbol π was very slow. It was not until 1737 that this notation was made widely known by the Swiss mathematician Leonhard Euler (1707-1783) one of the most famous mathematicians of the 18th century.
