Who is Poet DJ Enright?
A twentieth century British author, poet, scholar, and critic associated with the Movement, he is best known for The Laughing Hyena (1953), The Year of the Monkey (1956), and other volumes of poem. He was the 1980 Queen's Gold Medal recipient for poetry.
His 1960 lecture at the University of Singapore was cited in "The Enright Affair", in which he was reprimanded by the Singapore government for his criticism of the country's politics.
