Peru represented the National Assembly from 2001 to 2006 and was a member of the Frente Independiente Moralizador party. Former first lady of Peru, she accused her husband of Alberto Fujimori and his family members and associates of political corruption.
Wanting to enter the 1995 Lima mayoral election, she tried to start a political party called Harmony 21st Century, but the party lacked the necessary number of supporters to legalize it.
