Right from the first round, she received praises from all 4 Coaches who are singers Le Quyen, singer Dam Vinh Hung , singer Ngoc Son and singer Quang Le about her sweet and deep voice when successfully performing the song "Who remembers who". And then she chose to join Coach Le Quyen's team.
Y Linh shared that she joined Bolero Idol in part to show her passion for singing as well as to try her best. She thinks "Bolero has a similarity in both his music and his voice".
Y Linh is originally a student of folk music, but she specializes in classical music, not Bolero. That's why when she joined the Bolero idol, she tried very hard to convince the 4 coaches to choose her as well as being well received by the audience.

Phan Thi Y Linh is a child of her hometown Quang Tri but she was born and raised in Hue city.
Y Linh studied learning the instrument and music of Hue at Hue Conservatory of Music. Linh mainly sings folk songs, studied in the Academy to study ancient songs

Y Linh was born into a family with a tradition of folk singing. Linh's grandmother is a singer in Quang Tri, and her parents are excellent artists of the Hue Opera and Opera troupe. Linh's mother is Meritorious Artist Thu Hang who performs Hue songs every week. Linh used to mainly sing at Hue Opera House and some performances on Dragon boat. From a young age, Linh listened to her mother teach and sing, then grew up to continue studying at Hue Conservatory of Music. That's why Y Linh has also inherited some of her sweet, deep voice.
