In 1966, Nguyen Van Chien joined the army. Until November 1967, he was seriously injured in the fierce battle against the invaders on the Quang Da front. He broke his left thigh, injured his spine and skull.
In 1968, Nguyen Van Chien moved to the North for treatment. With constant efforts to both treat trauma and study; in 1982, he graduated from the University of Medicine.
From 1982-1992, he worked at the Da Nang City Sanitation Team for Epidemic Prevention. Nguyen Van Chien is a dedicated doctor who is active in his work even though his health is not good. After 10 years of working in the field of hygiene and prevention of epidemics, he has been awarded the title of City-level Emulation Soldier twice and the People's Committee Quang Nam province - Da Nang gave him many certificates of merit.
