Ly Chieu Hoang was the 9th and last king of the Ly dynasty. She ruled the country for 1 year, from 1224 to 1225. In Vietnamese history, Ly Chieu Hoang was the first and only woman to hold the government. She was handed the throne by her father, Ly Hue Tong, by arrangement of Tran Thu Do, was a man of great power in the court at that time.
Ly Chieu Hoang's real name is Ly Phat Kim, later renamed Ly Thien Hinh, is the second daughter of King Hue Tong Hoanh Hieu Emperor. Her mother is Linh Tu, mother of Tran Thi, is Tran Thua's younger sister (the father of Tran Canh and Tran Lieu). Her title is Princess Chieu Thanh. Thai monk Tran Thu Do, fearing that his bloodline would be interrupted, forced Tran Thai Tong to depose Ly Thien Hinh and set up Princess Thuan Thien, Tran Lieu's wife as Queen. Tran Thai Tong refused to flee the capital and went to Phu Van in Yen Tu, but Thai Su coaxed and pressured him so he had to obey.
Chieu Hoang was deposed Empress and demoted as Princess Chieu Thanh. , was imprisoned in the palace for 20 years. Princess Thuan Thien was made Empress. It was also because of this that Hoai King Tran Lieu rebelled in Cai River, later on, when Tran Lieu failed, he asked Thai Tong for forgiveness. Dragon Temple is the place to worship Ly Chieu Hoang, located at Dinh Bang in the town. Tu Son commune, Bac Ninh province. In January 2009, this temple was recognized as a provincial historical relic by the state. In April of the same year, the temple was demolished to build a new one, making people feel sad.
