British party politician who served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1997-2007 and was a staunch US ally in the war on terror. At the age of 43 when he was elected, he was Britain's youngest Prime Minister since 1812. He has also served the longest serving as Prime Minister of the Labor party.
He resigned in 2007 after his popularity had dropped significantly due to public disapproval of the Iraq war, which many felt he misled Congress about.
