FC was founded in 2008. They competed in the Campeonato Nacional II Divisão Feminino for the first time in the 2008-2009 season. The team then qualified for the Campeonato Nacional Feminino (Portuguese National Championship) for the 2010–2011 season, after they rose and finished as runners-up at the Campeonato Nacional II Divisão 2009–10. In the 2011–12 season, this women's team unexpectedly achieved the runner-up position of Campeonato Nacional Feminino after only two years of participating in the tournament.
