Best known for his Comeek Ernie POOK comics, this cartoonist and writer has also written numerous graphic novels and illustrations, including cruddy (1999), One Time! Hundreds of people! Demons! (2002), and What It Is (2008). She is the 2009 recipient of the Eisner Award for Best Reality-Based Comic Work.
Her 1998 work The Good Times is Killing Me deals with a friendship between children of different races. She liked the books into an early 1990s Off-Broadway play.
