After being discovered by his father that he had a special ability with this subject, the ability to memorize chess pieces, chessboards and moves, he let Thien Ngan pursue chess. Every weekend, her father took her back to Hanoi to practice. In 1st grade, Thien Ngan attended Primary School Doi Can. Here, she joins the school's chess club. Seeing Thien Ngan's special talent, Thai Nguyen High School for the Gifted in Physical Education and Sports has exempted and reduced tuition fees for Thien Ngan to attend the school.

In the best training environment, Thien Ngan has been competing ever since. Participating in chess competitions from the age of 6, Thien Ngan owns a long track record with great prizes that everyone admires. In 2016, after achieving 3 gold medals and 1 silver medal in the National tournament. Thien Ngan has been shortlisted to compete in the 17th Southeast Asian age group chess championship held in Thailand. Here, she won convincingly with 2 gold medals. This award helped Thien Ngan be conferred the title of "Master of Southeast Asia". In 2019, in the U14 World Youth Chess Championship held in Spain, Thien Ngan successfully achieved 2 gold medals in the women's fast chess and blitz chess. After this award, Thien Ngan was conferred the title of grandmaster. Most recently, she won the national women's blitz chess tournament organized by LienVietPostbank. After that, she was also awarded a certificate of merit from the Prime Minister to honor the young delegates of our country.
Recently, the Asian Youth Chess Championship 2022 was held in Bali, Indonesia. The tournament is organized with 3 main contents: Fast Chess, Blitz Chess and Standard Chess. In the category of U18 standard chess, Thien Ngan has successfully received a gold medal for the Vietnamese team. Not only getting a prestigious gold medal, Thien Ngan also caused a fever in the online community when she appeared with her top-notch beautiful face. She was noticed and praised by the foreign media when she stood on the podium to receive the award.
