Who is Choreographer Susan Stroman?
After winning her first Tony Award for staging the early 1990s Broadway revival of Crazy for You, she went on to win the same honor for her work on Show Boats and Lien. In 2001, she won two Tonys for her work on The Producers. She has also staged productions for both the New York City Ballet and The Martha Graham Company.
She was nominated for a Tony Award and/or Drama Desk Award for her work on the Broadway productions of The Scottsboro Boys, The Music Man, Big, and Steel Pier.

She trained as a dancer during her childhood five months and went on to study theater at the University of Delaware. After moving to New York City in the mid-1970s, she appeared in the ensemble of the 1979 Broadway production Whoopee! and went on to stage a 1987 Off-Broadway production Flora Red Menace.
The child of Charles and Frances Stroman, she spent her early years in Wilmington, Delaware. She was married to British-born Broadway director Mike Ockrent from 1996 until Ockrent's death of leukemia in 1999.
