Viet Thao (full name Trinh Viet Thao) is the "first MC", an overseas comedian who is loved by many people. MC Viet Thao is known as a celebrity. Host of the Center Van Son for many years (from 1994 to 2011). The last time he appeared at Van Son center was the book Van Son 47: Summer in a Cold Country, filmed in Canada in 2011. Currently, he is no longer the MC of Van Son center but still takes on many leading roles. overseas music programs, cooking video tutorials on Youtube... Besides, MC Viet Thao also runs her own Pho Oh Yeah restaurant at USA.
Thanks to her intelligence, sophistication and witty way of talking, young MC Viet Thao and two Comedian Van Son and Bao Liem brought laughter and unforgettable memories to the audience through the footage of a lifetime. The trio has toured through many countries, spreading the culture of Vietnam with the world and the Vietnamese community living abroad.
On January 22, 2021, the news that MC Viet Thao had a stroke in the US spread at a dizzying speed, making many viewers worried. After that, the family confirmed that the information was not true, the male MC's health was still stable.
MC Viet Thao used to attend Petrus Ky School, Saigon (now a High School for the Gifted Le Hong Phong, Ho Chi Minh City). He graduated in 1972.
In 1980, he came to the US and worked in many different jobs. In 1994, he became the host of Van Son Center's program.
