Mexican American civil rights activist, judge and attorney who especially worked on the landmark case Hernandez v. Texas, where he argued against excluding Hispanics from legal obligation in front of the United States Supreme Court.
He was the first Mexican-American to become an associate on the 4th Court of Appeals and was later named chief justice of the Court in 1977.
