Who is Comedy actor Van Hiep?
Artist Van Hiep full name is Nguyen Van Hiep, he is a famous comedian, loved and admired by many audiences. Artist Van Hiep's name is associated with many "village chiefs" performers, that's why he is often called by Vietnamese audiences as "Chief Van Hiep". He also impressed with the roles in the program "Meet the weekend" on channel VTV3 of Vietnam Television. Artist Van Hiep often is chosen by directors to play the role of a simple, gentle, honest and kind farmer... With his humorous charm, artist Van Hiep always makes his roles come to life. and more witty.
He came to comedy through his first role, the role of Snail in the play "Mussels, Clams, Snails, Mussels" directed by Duong Ngoc Duc staged. Artist Van Hiep has created an image of the character Oc Khi when coming to the field of television, especially, a series of scripts about "Chief Van Hiep" and two comedians Quang Teo and Giang Coi, set These three artists have brought unique comedy skits to the audience. In particular, artist Van Hiep has created a unique image of the "village chief" character that is not mixed.
He worked until 2002 when he retired. When he was old, he had metastatic lung cancer and had to be treated at Huu Nghi Hospital. But because he was too sick, he passed away at 5 am on April 9, 2013 at his home, aged 71.
Although, 3 times before, he was able to make a dossier for the title of excellent artist submitted to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, artist Van Hiep. But until his death, he had not been awarded any artist title due to lack of medals. Or there is an opinion that he is an amateur.
On April 11, 2013, People's Artist Khai Hung drafted a petition to submit to the President for proposal. Posthumously conferring the title of Distinguished Artist to artist Van Hiep. And as a result, on September 13, 2013, Vietnam President Truong Tan Sang signed a decision posthumously conferring the title of Distinguished Artist to him for his contributions to the country's art scene.

He graduated from the first class of the University of Theater and Cinema, with the same course Doan Hoang Giang, Truong Khoi, Doan Chau. After graduating, he was accepted to work at the Vietnam Drama Theater.
He married Mrs. Van Thi Kim Dung, but later she went to work abroad in Germany and did not return. The comedian couple lived separately but did not divorce. He spent most of his life with his children. He has a daughter and a son. His son lived in Germany, then returned to Vietnam and worked as an interpreter and import-exporter. His daughter voiced the movie. Mrs. Van Thi Kim Dung, his wife, when returning to mourn her husband said: "I still love my husband", and "when her son called to report the bad news, she could not stand it and fell unconscious".
