Who is Composer Manuel Ponce?
Remembered for his compositions for piano, guitar and orchestra and his famous arrangement of Mexican folk songs, this early 20th century composer is perhaps best known for his songs of the year. 1912 "Estrellita." He was the 1947 recipient of the Mexican National Science and Algorithms.
During his lifetime, he was recognized as the "Creator of modern Mexico Rivers."

In his late teens, he began training at the Mexican Conservatorio Nacional de Musica. He then studied at the Italian School of Bologna and at the Stern Institute of Germany.
He spent his early days in Fresnillo, Zacatecas, Mexico, and most of his childhood in Aguascalientes. He married Clementina Maurel.
