In the early 1960s, musician Truc Phuong was bright. Composing the song "Old Year's Night Train" to dedicate to officers far from home. This was a popular song at that time. Since childhood, Truc Phuong was passionate about singing, he taught himself guitar and then practiced composing. Due to his difficult family situation, he only participated in cultural activities at the Information Office of Vinh Binh province for a while and then went to Saigon to make a living. In Saigon, he stayed in the house of a wealthy family in Gia Dinh and taught music to the daughter of the landlord. Not long after, the girl fell in love with Truc Phuong. When her parents heard the news, they sent Truc Phuong to another place. After this love story, Truc Phuong taught herself more about music and composes more enthusiastically. But later songs leaned towards the theme of love between couples and the adversities of separation.
