Who is Illustrator Hiroshi Fujimoto?
Better known as Fujiko Fujio, the pseudonym he shared with his longtime collaborator Motoo Abiko, this twentieth-century manga artist is best known for his work on a hugely popular Japanese manga series Doraemon.
His many high artistic awards include the 1963 Shogakukan Manga Publisher Award, the 1982 Shogakukan Children's Manga Award; , and the 1997 Tezuka Osamu Great Cultural Prize.

He and Abiko published their first manga work, Tenshi no Tama Chan, in the early 1950s.
He was born and raised in Japan's Toyama prefecture, and he met and began creating art with Abiko during both boys' elementary school years. Fujimoto's marriage resulted in three daughters.
