Better known as Fujiko Fujio, the pseudonym he shared with his longtime collaborator Motoo Abiko, this twentieth-century manga artist is best known for his work on a hugely popular Japanese manga series Doraemon.
His many high artistic awards include the 1963 Shogakukan Manga Publisher Award, the 1982 Shogakukan Children's Manga Award; , and the 1997 Tezuka Osamu Great Cultural Prize.
