The People's Artist belongs to the first generation of actors in the Vietnamese theater school system. He was the first person to play the role of Uncle Ho in the play "History and Witnesses" in 1986 by director Hoai Giao. This is one of his outstanding roles and also a role that leaves a deep impression on the audience.
He won the Gold Medal of the National Professional Theater Festival 1970 for his role as a deputy governor of the Saigon government in the spring Hue of Luu Trong Lu. People's Artist Ngoc Thuy was honored to be awarded the Second-class Order of Resistance against America and National Salvation by the State.
