The Belle was created by artists James Baxter and Mark Henn. Belle lives with her father, an inventor named Maurice, in a small town in France. She is considered the most beautiful girl in the village, however she is often ridiculed for her love of reading and her unconventional lifestyle. She is pursued by a hunter named Gaston, but she shows no interest in him. On the contrary, Belle wishes to live in a secluded place and enjoys adventure. When her father was yelled at, she bravely sacrificed her freedom to save him. Gradually, Belle learned to accept and eventually fell in love with the Beast. The two's sincere love finally helped the Monster escape the curse of a sorceress that has lasted for many years.
