Lord Voldemort had a Muggle father and was of the Gaunt family, ancestral to Salazar Slytherin. Lord Voldemort's maternal grandfather was Marvolo Gaunt, and his uncle was Morfin Gaunt. Lord Voldemort's mother is Merope Riddle and his father is Tom Riddle.
Lord Voldemort was born into circumstances that did not stem from the love of his parents. His mother when she was young always lived in a situation of being abused by her father and brother, even her father considered torturing her daily as the most comfortable thing in the day. The only joy in her life was seeing a boy named Tom Riddle every day. After her grandmother passed away and her brother went to prison, she decided to use love potions to win Tom Riddle's love. Under the influence of love potion, Tom Riddle quickly fell in love with her and the two left to live elsewhere. After a year, she became pregnant and decided not to use love potions with her husband anymore. Because of his faith he loved her and because of the pregnancy in the womb. But the truth she was wrong, after the love potion wore off, Tom Riddle quickly realized everything before was a lie and left her to return to her family while she was pregnant. After the death of her husband, Merope decided never to use magic and mysteriously disappeared. But by Christmas 1926, she reappeared at Borgin and Burkes in Diagon Alley to sell an heirloom, Salazar Slytherin's locket, and then disappeared again. On the last day of the year she reappeared at the door of the orphanage and then gave birth to a baby boy 1 hour later. Before she died, she was able to name her son Tom Marvolo Riddle.
