Football club Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham was founded in 1882 by a group of schoolchildren led by Bobby Buckle. These members are all members of the cricket team called Hotspur, and have been gathered to keep the sport active in the winter. After more than a year, Bible teacher John Ripsher managed this group of students. He is also the person who is considered the first president and treasurer in the history of the team. It was John Ripsher who supported the team for many years, helping them organize and attract sponsors. In April 1884, they decided to change the name of the team to Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, to avoid confusion with other teams with the same name Hotspur in London. Soon after, the team was nicknamed "The Lilywhites" and "Spurs". Since 1901, Tottenham have won their first FA Cup, becoming the first club in a national form to have won it since the Football League was founded in 1888.

In In the 20th century, Tottenham were the first club to win the League Cup and FA Cup double in the 1960-1961 season. After successfully defending the FA Cup in 1962, the team became the first British club to win the continental title by winning the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup in 1963. In 1972, The team won the UEFA Cup, becoming the first British club to win two different European Championships. From 1950 to the end of the 2000s, Tottenham won at least one trophy per decade, equaling the record of Manchester United. In total, Tottenham have won four League Cups, seven Super Cups, two national championships, eight FA Cup titles, two UEFA Cups and one UEFA Cup Winners' Cup. This team is also the runner-up of the 2018–19 UEFA Champions League.
