Captain of the Uruguayan national team that won its first World Cup in 1930. He spent most of his club career with Bella Vista and Nacional and was a member of the 1923- Uruguay national team. 1937, before managing the team from 1942 to 1945.
After helping Uruguay win the 1923 Men's US Championship, he led a national team to gold medals at the 1924 Olympics.
