Nguyen Phong Hong Duy is a Vietnamese football player, a former student of Hoang Anh Gia Lai Football Academy - Arsenal JMG, currently plays for Hoang Anh Gia Lai club, and is a member of the football club Hoang Anh Gia Lai. Vietnam U19 and U23 football team.
In 2010, Hong Duy applied for a trial job at Becamex Binh Duong, but because his family conditions did not allow him, his parents advised him to go to Gia Lai apply for a job. At that time, he made a lot of impressions, so he was recommended by the teachers to sign a contract. The possibility of Duy being selected to the first class of Hoang Anh Gia Lai Arsenal JMG is very high because he has been praised many times by Mr. Graechen. After training at Hoang Anh Gia Lai Arsenal Academy JMG, Hong Duy has played much more skillfully, and quickly won called up to play for U19 Vietnam. However, the football career of this guy born in 1996 was not very smooth when he was often rotated between the midfield and defender positions. When the team lacked force, coach Graechen brought Hong Duy to the left-back, but surprisingly, he performed very well in this position. Therefore, since then, Hong Duy has become the defender of the left wing of Vietnam U19 team. However, being a midfielder, Hong Duy is used to the way of handling and finding ways to pass rather than break the ball, so it is increasingly revealing weaknesses in defense.
The 2014 Thanh Nien Newspaper International U21 Football Championship, when playing in the midfield position, Hong Duy shined again. He continuously scored for the U19 HAGL team. Although he has not shown his good playing form, Hong Duy was still called up to the U23 Vietnam team. However, he was unable to participate in the Asian U23 qualifiers and 2018 Seagame due to injury.
