Who is Inventor Shiva Ayyadurai?
In the late 1970s, while volunteering at the New Jersey College of Medicine and Dentistry, this teenage, up-and-coming computer scientist created an in-office mail delivery method that he called "EMAIL." He copyrighted his system in 1982, and much controversy remains over whether he really should be credited with the invention of email.
As many sources began to discredit Ayyadurai's claim to have invented email, MIT revoked funding for its EMAIL labs and removed Ayyadurai from teaching positions at the university.

He spent the first seven years of his life in Bombay, India, and the remainder of his childhood in the United States. In 2014, he married American television actress Fran Drescher.
