From an early age Pierre-Simon Laplace had a remarkable ability to perceive numbers. He has an endless passion for mathematics.
At the age of five he studied at the University of Caen. During his 2 years at university here, realizing his passion for mathematics and wanting to pursue it, he dropped out of Caen and went to Paris. His teacher at Caen introduced him to d'Alembert (a famous French mathematician and physicist). He was noticed by d'Alembert and even recommended for a job in the military school. Here he focused his research on differential equations and the application of astronomy and mathematics to probability theory.
With the ability and achievements that Laplace achieved, he is considered one of the most famous mathematicians in France.
Not only focusing on research in the fields of astronomy and mathematics, Laplace also focused on research in the field of physics especially on thermal theory, which he was aiming for before the end of his career. During his research in the field of Physics he came up with ideas: capillary action (1806-07), double refraction (1809), the speed of sound (1816), the theory of temperature, especially the shape and rotation of the cooling Earth (1817-1820), and elastic fluids (1821)
In 1799 he was appointed Minister of the Interior. he became an earl in 1806.
On March 5, 1827 he died.
And to this day he is always remembered as a brilliant scientist, an outstanding mathematician. with a pioneering role in statistical probability theory.
